Dawn G Torrens's childhood was one shrouded in poverty, extreme abuse, fear, and tears. She spent the majority of her childhood being shipped from one children’s home to another. To say the least....

This is where she developed her love for reading and writing. Each children’s home had a sparse library filled with donated books. Torrens would spend countless hours working her way through the titles available, The Secret Seven by Enid Blyton, The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett, Anne Frank’s Diary and anything available by Charles Dickens.

Charles Dickens was an author that Torrens could resonate with, he was a poor boy that came from nothing and became one of the best known authors in the world. This inspired Torrens who dreamed of becoming an author one day. With her journal always close by, she commenced her writing journey penning poetry of her feelings during her dark times as a way to allude her reality at that time and eventually graduating to short stories.

She spent her final fours years from age 12 to 16 in the notorious, Bryn Alyn Community Children’s Homes in North Wales, now dubbed the ‘Homes from Hell.’

You are watching the Preamble to four (4) parts of an interview that lasted four (4) hours. It lasted that long for a reason. You will see how an mentally and physically tortured girl survived a childhood of continuous maltreatment and rejection, growing to carrying the light of HOPE with extreme endurance until achieving international success and fame.
